Being different is not a crime. It is a BLESSING. To be appreciated for being different is a greater boon. It is those differences that we have that make us special.
Imagine a world with the same faces, same characters, similar thinking, how boring it would seem. There would be no falling in love, no jealousy, no comedians, no one special to cherish. Every single difference about us makes us what we are. It is your beaky nose that makes you stand out. Believe me there is someone out there who loves it. It might be your love for freaky hairstyles that makes an impression. Your crazy love for some weird food combination might make you memorable even in a passing acquaintance. The way you talk, your handshake, the way you slant your head when you speak, your choice of words, the way you walk it is all these things that distinguishes you.
You were born to be different. Stop trying to be like the next door neighbour. He isn’t you. She isn’t you.
From the birth, we strive to bring up our children as someone else. We ask them to eat up as the other boy does. We ask them to study as the other girl does. We make them talk dress and even breathe like others. From this develops an inner requisite to dampen the longing to be different. It ends in a sense of mortification when someone notices you are different and hence you endure great pains to hide your uniqueness. You start to cover up your way of talking, walking dressing, style of eating and even your animated speech. You long to be one among the many instead of being one of a kind. This stage marks your defeat as you. You are longer you. You become a mixture of the people whom you've tried to be like.
I am not implying you cannot borrow good qualities form people who are valued. But trying to be just like them is foolishness. You may like someone’s style of talking, but imitating it as such is dumb.
As the other side of this coin, some people get this idea to transform themselves into conceited beings which is much more dangerous. Much as you accept you are different, you are expected to respected the difference in your fellow beings.
Commencing on this new blog, this is what I wish to say in my initial post:

" You are one of a kind. You are unique. You are special. Stop trying to fit in when you are born to stand out."
